
WingTsun - a small piece of history
WingTsun comes from China and was 300 years ago developped, based on the traditional martial arts. Two women brought this style toward flowering with the purpose of an individual, effective selfdefence system for all humans. One of those two women carried the name "Wing Tsun" (that means "bautiful springt"). The Chinese mamed that particular art of fighting after her. WT was only tought exclusively within the families and Clans.
The in 1972 deceased grandmaster Yip Man was the last Wing Tsun- teacher who taught exclusievely to Chinese. Right now, WT is taught to ten thousands of people in more than 65 countries over theb whole world. They are all students of the last master student of Yip Man, Dr. Leung Ting, who was able to modernise the WingTsun selfdefence system during his last 30 years of teaching.
Wat can be expected from WingTsun
WingTsun Kung Fu is the probably the most effective form that a realistic selfdefence can ever take. It is the most leading-edge Eastern martial-art, the ultimate ability to throuw your body as as a real weapon into the battle To accompish this it is not necessary to become a bodybuilder or a power lifting champion. In fact does the pure muscles force or a born fighting talent not play a very important role in a serious fight situation.
Effective self-defence

Because WT uses flexible attacks, multiple at the same time and on different areas, that leaves the attacker no time or any space for his own actions. WT teaches how to use the force of the opponent against him-self. Just like a steel spring let WT bounces the arriving force directly back, while adding own power is scarcely needed. To reach that goal one has to learn how to make use of natural reflexes which are able to out-pass the thinking process and which are therefore faster than the - thinking - consciousness of the opponent.
Body mastery, coordination training and motion school
WingTsun starts from the existing possibilities of the scholars.
