AMSTERDAM SEMINARS IN JANUARY

SEMINAR TIME ADJUSTMENTS
Like you may have noticed is the standard seminar training unit in the EWTO since already more than 8 years 90 minutes.
The last 16 years ours was 135 minutes. Because I don't want to further raise my seminar fee (while my standard fee is still 30,- i.s.o. 40,-) I will adjust the standard unit now also toward 90 minutes. This can also be done because of the grown quality of our WT instructors. At the beginnig years it was me and Simo upholding a high standard but the last years I could see that the 'next generation' is doing great! Not 'only' our EWTO family 'add-ons' like Sifu Oli te Wiel but also our 'home made' NWTO ones like for instance René Rietveld or Ramon Groevenstein. And others are arriving too. Looking toward all that my fears regarding the future of WingTsun in NL are vanishing away more and more. :^) So, that I can follow now the EWTO '90 minute standard' has also to do with the very well done preparation work of my appreciated instructors. Thank You!
LAST XMAS WAS HOT AT THE OFFICE
Well, on the 2nd christmas eve an explosion happend, followed by a fire, in the living rooms on top above our office... It was quite heavy and on the news. It is said that it was an old oven, but not just a few assuming that it was the fault of a drunken neighbour. Anyway, luckily nobody got seriously hurt. While the whole upper-part is devasted our part was nearly unharmed! Well, beside the water damage of the fire fighters, but the insurance should cover that.
What is still nasty is, that some of our stock and materials got drained as well and that it has put a couple of unforseen extra work tasks on our agenda. And it was a kind of shock for my aunt for sure, she lives right behind. But considering all the given facts and circumstances it is really a kind of a miracle that the done damage was such minor.
WING TSUN WELT # 32
Our great WingTsun Welt magazine shows once again how professional the EWTO is developping. This (inside but state-of-the-art) magazine could easily be sold in the shops. It's also nice that you can find a short interview of Lady-Sifu regarding gender differences within WingTsun. And I do hope that in edition 33 will be enough space left for CoreMunication as well.
We could also consider to introduce one or the other NWTO instructor to the EWTO readers with an article and pictures.
A WARM RESTART (February 2k9)
AMSTERDAM SEMINARS IN FEBRUARY The next SCD (CM) event is planned on Sunday 1st of February (12.00-15.30) with the NWTO (Batjan Straat 82).
The topic of this interaction stage is Wu-Wei; it could be used as Wu-Wei intro (#1) or as Wu-Wei follow-up (#4).
I will leave the decision to the ones who wish to join... this is a new appoach but worthy regarding the issue!
So, the first group of people who write in due to mail or personally due to Simo will set the path of the stage.
NEW WU-WEI 1 INTRO
Well, the first possible date in 2009 was already directly taken by our Wu-Wei pioneers, leaving no doubt about that. :^D
While I am more than glad with that sign of appreciation I wish also to give my other To-Dai the chance to explore 'it'.
So, I try to offer on Sunday 05-04-2009 12.00-15.30 another Wu-Wei 1 intro; also this time limited to the NWTO members.
Please write-in in time, the last time I felt a bit sad for the ones who wished to join but were somehow too late to sign-in...
THE ORA-MATRIX
I will give an open SCD stage regarding the introduction and usage of the first part of the CoreMunication ORA-matrix.
It will be on Saturday 28-02-2009, 12.00-15.30; this stage could be used as ORA follow-up but is also for 'CM newbe's'.
The ORA-matrix (3x3) is the main model within CoreMunication and can be used for the most wide spread applications.
Without this essential 'tool' I would probably not have found the doorway to Wu-Wei myself! It is the extract of CM.
NEW NWTO ACADEMY SCHEDULE IN 2009
In 2009 there will be a lot changes regarding the NWTO academy. It is the meaning of building-up a new WingTsun centre.
Of course this could not be done alone. I have already mentioned a bit regarding those future changes in the last year news.
Unfortunately the last year bank crash have slowed down the project but it will not be stopped for sure, I'm not in a hurry.
That of course means by now way that we are standing still with our expanding plans, the opposite seems to be more true...
To avoid any rumour: Don't worry, I will stay teaching. But my future focus should be more on the WT instructor 'forming'.
To be able to do so I will work with a two team option, a full-time instructor team and a part-time instructor team, soon more.
CHANGED PARKING SCHEDULE
Hmm, while I try to live in a state of acceptance more and more it is still annoying that the parking schedules around the Batjan is now drastically changed, you have to pay longer now (till 21.00) and more (2,40 per hour)... This is madness, because for some it would mean to pay more as double for the parking than for the training! That's somehow hard to accept, even for me. But in any situation the good can be found also, some hidden... maybe a signal for change... 'yes, we can' - too!
FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR PG7 & PG6
Well, last year was actually meant to be the year for my final examinations toward the 7th PG WT; but 2008 was to complex again to include also my PG test. While I'm not in any hurry I hope to be able to find enough time some how for my next level, eventually (for the very first time!) together with Lady-Sifu. But this will be probably not before the second half of 2009.
Another point is of course is to arrange a fitting place and date for our TG aspirants, I am thinking of 'some event in mei'...

NO "MATTER", JUST 'GIMME 5'!
Well, well, well. No idea why, but my 'Wei-Wu-Wei To-Dai' are wanting me to offer also a Wu-Wei 5 session in near future...
This is a great 'thing' for me and a big pleasure! I feel once again happy to follow that call from the 'world of the Ti'. And I found already a fitting name for it: 'The Sound of Wu-Wei'. By that I give you already a 'little idea' of the direction of WW5. The date will follow here soon - because there is a chance to present Wu-Wei 5 already in another well fitting environment...
NEW NWTO INTERNET APPEARANCE
I have concrete plans for a complete new site-design for www.wingtsun.nl. I am a bit tired of explaining all the time that the info in the 'old section' is not old at all, but 'the old' is pointing to the lay-out. It was done all by myself, compensating the lack of web designer skill with passion for WT. That worked fine somehow. When I started with my site (CompuServe, 15 years ago), which is still totally independent (with no sponsor wanted), it was one of the first WT sites around and probably one of the expanded ones. I felt the need of presenting WT in an own way, a bit rough in design but streight to the core. And during some times our site was one of the most visited WT sites. So, after all there was more 'right' then 'wrong' in my past chosen web approach. But I feel it is time for letting go 'the old' (without discarding any of the good) and that feeling should also be represented on our site. Don't worry, most of the articles and topics will stay on our site, probably in form of an archive.
NEW NWTO ACADEMY SCHEDULE, PART 2
While I was able to find a fitting place for SCD in 2008, my plans regarding a new NWTO academy was somehow only progressing slowly. Actually I was already busy with two interesting options for WT. Both were growing slow but more or less steady in 2008. But something must have happened, when we started up that 'Wu-Wei thingie'... I wount go to deep into details here, because some might send me a kind team with a fancy white jacket and nice long sleeves... But applying that 'new fashion approach' on me would not be too easy for them I guess ;^). But fact is that wonderful options are melting into my presence the last months, esspecially the last weeks, Ching-Shen all around... I consider those as greetings right from the Tao. I hope to be able to show you soon the WT manifestation of what I am trying to point at here. Another nice development has to do with possible future EWTO schedules regarding CoreMunication, the details about all that will follow here soon.

NEW NWTO ACADEMY SCHEDULE, PART 3
The project 'New NWTO Academie' is progressing nice and smoothly, that means that the month April should be 'the one'.
There is still a lot to do to come up with a completely functional 'WingTsun Kwoon' like I have in my mind but we do our best!
It could be that we have to move the Wu-Wei intro on 05-04-09 for one more time - it depends on our further progressions!
We could for instance also consider Saturday, 18-04-09; there will be only 12 places, so reservate in time if you wish to join.
NEW NWTO ACADEMY SCHEDULE, PART 4
On our last NWTO member meeting I have already given a lot of details regarding all the coming developments and changes.
Well, I haven't given already the adress in public, thus you still need to stay a bit patient. But to give a small indication here:
If you know how to reach the Sloterdijk station in Amsterdam you are about 5-6 minutes (walking) away from our new place...
Soon you'll find on www.wingtsun.nl all details, but don't be astonished if you may not recognise our site at first sight then!
NWTO & INT. EWTO LG 2009...
The NWTO will be represented on the 'Internationale Lehrgang' of the EWTO. And four of my To-Dai will go for the 1st TG!
We will actually go with nearly the same group of people than last year, everything is already arranged for it by Simo and me.
Considering my own recent schedule with the new Kwoon and site buiding activities I myself would probably not go this time.
But together with helping my To-Dai with their final TG test and of course to be 'in touch' with my Si-Fu can make it all worth.
INT. EWTO LG 2009 & MORE...
We leave already for Germany on 'Queens Day' (which is also Simo's birthday!) to be fresh on the first stage in the morning.
With the new site there was a stap back needed because there was a browser incompatibility with the new chosen approach!
With the Kwoon there were also some slight adjustments but we are now again perfect in schedule, in fact all is going fine.
I feel the need of writing so much more here and now but this has still to wait until THE moment is arrived to present it all...
THE NWTO (ACADEMY) AND THE SCD (CENTER)
There is a good chance that both our companies will merge together again considering the location. Anyway, we decided to transfer the old academy toward the new Kwoon in the beginning of May. While our new place is already fully functional I want to finish first the task regarding the final tests of my To-Dai at the INT LG '09 in Germany. Well, we will be back in The Netherlands on 04-05-09. By that we have also the time to adjust some still wanted minor details regarding our beautiful new Kwoon. You will be surprised... To avoid misunderstandings, the April seminars (with exception of WW5) will be still given at our old academy (Batjan). BTW: The next Wu-Wei intro will be on 17-05-2009, 12.00-15.30 - there are only 6/12 places left!

'Internal Transfer' of the NWTO Kwoon (for the WingTsun academy students): 05-05-2009.2. 'Open Weekend' of the NWTO Kwoon (for all people who might be interested): 30-05-2009 & 31-05-2009.

REMARKS REGARDING NWTO AND SCD EVENTS
While it is not needed to sign-in before most of the NWTO events to participate it is a little different with our SCD activities. To join here you have to sign-in before. This can be done on two ways: 1. due to me (Email) or 2. due to Simo (personal talk). I simply can't remember after a WT seminar or class who was wanting to join what SCD event. To avoid misunderstandings and disappointments please use one of the two given ways. So, don't mix it up and talk to me or mail to Simo to sign-in... ;^)
!OPEN NWTO DAYS ON THE LAST WEEKEND OF MAY!
For all WingTsun students - recent and former ones - this could be a very nice opportunity to get in touch with us in our new Kwoon (again)! But of course it is also meant for all the people who don't know WingTsun (or the NWTO way) at all. This open NWTO weekend will be full of fun and free of costs and without any obligation. You may also bring with your family on this public event. The time of the two open days will be 12.00 till approximately 18.00; you can join both days fully or only one day partly, a sign-in is not needed. You can just drop in at any time you want within that given time frame. It is the meaning to have a nice interactive weekend, with some demo's, short trial stages, music, snacks, topic talks, questions and much more...
Yes, we are back from the INT LG 09. I would like to write much more about that great event, but considering what has to be done at our new place still this week I can only mention a few simple words here and now (but a bit later I will add MORE):
1. From now on the NWTO has 4 new TG level! Congratulations to Ricardo Slotema, Alexander Muntjewerf, René Rietveld and Remco van Wiggen! My Si-Fu seemed to be very pleased with what they were able to do on that event. WELL DONE!
2. From now on the NWTO has the plan to re-unite with the SCD, it is time to dissolve the (in the past years quite useful) separation between both; so, I think that the time is come that both ways can become one, without interfering eachother.
3. From now on the NWTO has a new WT Kwoon! The address is: Kapoeasweg 11-13, 1043 AD Amsterdam, the NWTO academy is not far away from the Sloterdijk station. Just feel free to visit us at our new accommodation from tomorrow on!
